About Me

Hi! I’m Angelica Rivera. Born and raised in Arizona, I’m a 2nd gen Mexican-American, Latina, independent Production Designer/ Art Director, ceramic artist and prop maker Based in Los Angeles. 

To me, film is a collaborative effort and while I only started in Art department in 2020, I have been in the film industry for over 8 years which has only solidified this belief from every department I’ve had the pleasure to be in. I love designing, decorating, and buying for sets that feel lived in and tell their own story in their own unique setting. I love adding texture and color to a scene, and giving a sense of history to a set. In my free time I try to watch anything and everything from Guillermo Del Toro and Studio Ghibli films, to The Muppets, and The Great Pottery throw down. 

As a ceramic artist, I am inspired by my Mexican-American culture, Japanese Anime, and 90s-Y2K pop culture. I love learning new techniques,  getting the opportunity to grow my skills and teach them to others. My hobbies include: singing karaoke, live music, dog watching, embroidery, drawing, painting, reading, wheel throwing and handbuilding pottery, teaching pottery, and relaxing with my two cats at home while listening to vinyl records.
